Covid-19 Pandemic Disastrous for Daily Wage and Front Line Workers

Donation Levels: $1,000 to support 20 Families with Food Packages

$5,700 for a Digital Transport Ventilator (DTV)

Sweeping lockdowns in 2020 and continuing in 2021 have threatened an estimated 8.51 million daily-wage workers from being able to provide for their families. Roughly 45% of them are the first to miss on day-to-day livelihood; affecting over 3 million people across Pakistan. Thousands of Medical Frontline workers needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).

Until the end of March 2021, Helping Hand USA has worked diligently to help alleviate the hardship of over half-a-million daily wage and low income worker families as well as, Frontline Healthcare workers during these challenging times.

Mother and Child Health Care

Donation Level: $240 per Patient

Every 11 seconds a pregnant or newborn child die during labor or immediately after childbirth. That would total to 2.8 million every year from causes that are preventable. At our Mother Child Health Clinics lifesaving services are being provided to reduce the maternal mortality rate such as postnatal checkups, health awareness sessions, and vaccination services. HHRD ensures the staff is properly trained to assist these women and children, along with arranging specialist clinics. New mothers navigating through this next phase of their lives deserve the proper services to help them, and we are there for that.

Skills Development and Livelihood Program

Donation Level: $1,080 for 6 Students

HHRD offers families means to sufficiency through Skills Development trainings for those drowning in poverty. Our Skills Development and Livelihood Program (SDLP) aims at imparting training to those in need, allowing them to stand on their own feet, and become financially stable. It empowers them to take charge of their own lives with dignity and determination.

HHRD imparts training, mainly to women and widows, in 16 districts. These projects allow self-sufficiency by using talents for income stability.

School Washrooms

Donation Level: $13,000 for 2 Units

Our Water and Sanitation Hygiene program in schools and public areas aims to improve access to clean water with sanitation facilities, and promote lifelong health for young ones in schools. This is done through hygiene promotion, rebuilding of infrastructure, and providing a friendly environment for all, especially school going children. They are given access to clean facilities and the privacy they deserve without the struggle of searching for washrooms around their school building. A total of 38.5 million people in Pakistan lack access to clean and secure drinking water causing families to use contaminated water sources. Let’s work together to ensure these families are given the basics of clean drinking water.
